Why Fire-Resistant Air Ducts?
Fire safety is one of the top priorities in the design and construction of any building. While ventilation systems normally provide air circulation, during a fire they can pose a serious risk by causing flames and smoke to spread rapidly throughout the building. This creates a dangerous scenario known as the “chimney effect.” Flame-retardant and fire-resistant air duct are specially designed to minimize this risk.
These ducts help slow down or completely stop the spread of fire, allowing people inside the building to evacuate safely. Their reliability is verified through rigorous testing and international certifications, including CSTB M0/M1 and BS 476 Part 7 & 20, which demonstrate the products’ resistance to fire under defined conditions of temperature, pressure, and duration.
